JIM WAGNER HELPS IN
SEARCH FOR OSAMA BIN LADEN
Last year a New York City film
production company asked Jim Wagner (High Risk columnist and Black Belt
Hall of Fame Self-Defense Instructor of the Year 2006) if he would
privately train Morgan Spurlock who was well known for his hit film Super
Size Me and the television show 30 Days.
Mr. Spurlock was going to go to the Middle East in search of the most infamous terrorist on Earth, Osama bin Laden, and he wanted to learn how to protect himself in an environment crawling with terrorists. Jim Wagner was one of the few instructors in the world qualified to teach counter-terrorism tactics. Mr. Spurlock was not only going to try to find the FBI's most wanted man, but he was going to make a film about his search called Where in the World is Osama bin Laden? The movie includes how Jim Wagner prepares him for his unique mission. For eight hours Jim Wagner taught Morgan Terrorism Survival which is one course out of five from Jim Wagner's Reality-Based Personal Protection Level 1 courses. The first thing Jim taught Mr. Spurlock was surviving a hand grenade or an Improvised Explosive Device attack, a common occurrence in that part of the world where he was going. He was then taught how to survive a small arms attack using air guns that fire a 6mm plastic projectile. Next, Jim Wagner had Mr. Spurlock doing both building bomb searches and car bomb searches. If he missed a device he was punished with physical exercise just like any other Reality-Based student. The training ended with sniper survival tactics and CBRN training (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear) training. Jim Wagner gave him a good dose of Oleoresin Capsicum (pepper spray). In January CNN did an interview with Morgan Spurlock and showed some of the training that he did under Jim Wagner. In this interview Mr. Spurlock claims that he has some information that the government is not telling us about, and that it will give viewers a better perspective on the War on Terrorism. Mr. Spurlock's film production company chose to feature Jim Wagner in the film because he was a former counter-terrorist agent with the United States government and had the first hands-on civilian-based self-defense course on dealing with common terrorist attacks.
